What are the Disadvantages of Open Rhinoplasty Surgery?

What are the Disadvantages of Closed Rhinoplasty?

In closed rhinoplasty, the surgeon performs the operation through the nostrils. For the surgeon, this technique leads to the following disadvantages;

• Inability to see all structures of the nose
• Inability to provide a more comfortable processing area
• Cannot be used in complex rhinoplasty surgeries and surgeries requiring major changes. If it is used, the desired result may not be obtained completely.

What Are The Points To Be Considered After Rhinoplasty Surgery?

• The first few days after rhinoplasty surgery should be reserved for rest.
• For 2 days, ice should be applied to the eye area to reduce oedema and swelling.
• Breathe through the mouth until the tampons are removed and drink plenty of water to prevent dry mouth.
• Sudden movements should be avoided and sports activities should be suspended.
• The nose should be well protected from impacts until it is fully healed.
• Consumption of some spicy foods that may cause itching of the nose should be suspended.
• Since the sensitivity will be high in the first times after nose surgery, it is necessary to pay attention to the use of sunscreen.
